IT CDRMS Support Specialist Contractor

Job Title: IT CDRMS Support Specialist Contractor

Reports To: IT Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

Support of various corporate IT systems, including the Managed Services data center, critical business applications and server platforms and security.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Weekend and after hour support of ISI applications, for CDRMS including client support.
  2. 2) Support the virtual server infrastructure at the Madison data center.
    1. ESXi administration, configuration and planning.
    2. VCenter server administration, configuration and upgrades.
    3. SAN and NAS (storage) administration.
    4. Backup administration, configuration and recovery testing.
    5. Network administration, configuration and planning.
    6. Fiber channel switch, HBA and SAN administration, configuration and planning.
    7. ESXi host upgrades to support HA and current and future loads.
    8. Load incidents from Engineering at the request of TAC.
    9. Monitor and resolve UpTime alerts to maintain client SLAs.
    10. Monitor VMWare alerts/alarms for hardware/software/configuration issues to maximize uptime and minimize non-compliance with SLAs.
    11. Add servers and integrate into CDRMS as needed for client growth or other increased load.
    12. Maintain SQL integrity/backups and restored for client DBs and provide copies for Engineering and QA testing.
    13. Create, administer and modify test servers as requested working with TAC. Always lower priority than live CDRMS systems.
    14. Load Select Service Packs after testing and authorization from TAC.
    15. Performance monitoring and tuning of VMware/ESXi, MS SQL, storage devices and networking.
    16. Respond to CDRMS tickets in a timely manner, working with TAC when needed.
    17. Windows and SQL account management in datacenter.
    18. Assist customers with VPN issues into datacenter.
    19. Manage CDMRS accounts, SQL and file transfers.
    20. Verify reports are emailed to client on scheduled or ad-hoc reports.
    21. Recollect, reprocess or recalc customer CDR at request of CAM.
    22. Run custom scripts against CDRMS SQL databases to ease administration for CAMs and the TAC group.
  3. Ad-hoc simple T-SQL queries of MS SQL databases.
  4. SQL database administration.

Education, Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • BS CS or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Information Technology


  1. General Microsoft SQL backend and relational database knowledge
  2. VMware ESXi and vCenter
  3. Cisco ASA Firewall with VPN
  4. Microsoft Windows Servers
  5. Fibre channel and iSCSI SANs and NAS devices
  6. Custom applications
  7. Database troubleshooting
  8. FTP/FTPS/SFTP administration
