Imagine the traditional call recording environment. You have numerous agents sitting in small cubicles in a large room. Each person has a phone. A traditional call recording system records all the calls. That scenario is getting less common as time and technology advances.

Many organizations now need to record calls for compliance and legal purposes. With new technologies, it becomes increasingly more difficult to meet these varying requirements.

A host of new solutions are poised to take the “where” out of unified communications:

·The recently announced Cisco Expressway allows simple and secure unified communications outside of corporate firewalls
·Microsoft’s Lync 2013 for Mobile Clients allows numerous devices–iPad, Android, iPhone and Windows Phone– to function as a client while staying outside the firewall
·Cisco’s new Jabber Guest extends voice, video, and instant messaging to virtually anyone with an Internet connection
·Web RTC is an upcoming standard set to change the entire industry. Any web browser can become a UC client without the need for customized software

While the technology may change, the compliance requirements do not. It is still necessary to record all the calls, regardless of the location or device. A traditional recording system just won’t do.

Having a collaboration recording system designed specifically for this new environment is critical for any organization that wants to take advantage of these productivity enhancing gadgets and services.

The technology landscape is constantly changing, and so has ISI and Verba’s collaboration recording solution. There have been amazing updates in the past few months alone. Some of the more recent new technologies include:

·Cisco Gateway and SBC Recording – Capture recording of the Edge
·Microsoft Edge Server Recording – Seamlessly record all calls, regardless of the device
·New Instant Messaging Recording from both Cisco Unified Presence and Microsoft Lync

Are you looking to move your communications to the edge?
