Microsoft has slated the public release of their updated and rebranded Lync application, Skype for Business, for April 14, 2015. The service comes bundled with Microsoft Office and is able to combine the unified communications platform— instant message, video, presence — with voice to allow for complete interaction functionality within a familiar customer interface.
ISI has worked closely with Microsoft in the development and preview phase to learn about the upgrades and ready our customers for the changes and implementation to Skype for Business.
Below are the highlights of the new Skype for Business platform that customers will be able to enjoy:
- Expanded version of Lync with no loss of Lync features or functionality.
- Enterprise-grade security and compliance built in.
- Connect to 300 million Skype users in (or out of) your organization’s network.
- Built-in to Office for easy initiation.
The new Skype for Business application also offers enhanced features that deliver more control to IT professionals. We are very excited about the possibilities that Skype for Business offers to our customers. All of our solutions are ready to support the new platform to make the transition seamless.
