The Lync Conference 2014 is fully underway. Like last year, ISI is sponsoring the event, and is excited to be a part of Microsoft Lync’s rapid growth. To put some borders around this expansion, attendance more than doubled from last year, and this year’s show has nearly tripled the number of sessions from the previous show.

They Keynote was kicked off by Giovanni Mezgec, General Manager, Product Marketing for Microsoft Lync and Skype. Mezgec spoke on some general Lync stats, as well as the ongoing battle between Unified Communications and PBX. Microsoft encourages a fruitful ecosystem, and currently boasts over 1,300 certified partners worldwide.

This high-level of collaboration has led Lync to 38 straight quarters of double-digit revenue growth. Because of this adoption, Microsoft is continuing its press to bring customers, users, sponsors, and vendors together.

On top of that, the past year has seen a number of updates to the Lync 2013 mobile client, as well as key updates to the Lync desktop client. These updates have included a number of renovations for cross-platform operability. One of the more impressive demonstrations during the Keynote was a mobile meeting set up across a slew of different devices, including desktops, tablets and mobile devices–running on Android and iOS.

These new technologies are delivering innovation at a quickening pace, matching customer need before demand. The future for Microsoft Lync is quite exciting, especially with the improved integration between Lync and Skype (more on that soon).

Stay tuned for more updates from the show!
