Call Accounting Services Manager

Q.Why did the Select 7 architecture change to running as Services?
A. Security - No user has to be logged into the server
Reliability - Services start when the computer does

Q.How do I access the Call Accounting Services Manager?
A. Click on Start button, Programs, Infortel Select, and Manage Background Services. Alternatively, you can perform a search for the application called isuManage.exe; double-click to execute. You will be prompted for your Database login.
For More Information, click to see the Background Services Quick Reference Guide: Background Services.

Q.Can you please give me more information on Background Services?
A. Background Services are tasks that Infortel Select needs in order to function. These tasks must be running in the background at all times. For security reasons, these tasks are services. Since they are services, this allows them to run even when no one is logged into the Computer. As long as the computer is turned on, the services will continue to run in the background. You can view all functions and services that run in the background via Call Acct. Services Mgr. Note: At present time, 'Autoreports' and 'cached' are still background tasks.
For More Information, click to see the Background Services Quick Reference Guide: Background Services.

Q.I went from Select 6 to Select 7. In Select 6, I had a Data Manager icon and a Data Collector icon that I do not have in Select 7. How will I be able to perform a manual poll of the Data Source or re-process calls?
A. In Select 7, these 2 functions, along with others, are now known as Services. You can access these Services from Call Acct. Services Mgr. and will still be able to re-process calls or run a manual poll from there.
For More Information, click to see the Background Services Quick Reference Guide: Background Services.

Q.On the Call Acct. Service Mgr. screen, the Stop/Start buttons are grayed out. Why?
A. The Start/Stop buttons are functional only at the Server, not at a workstation.
For More Information, click to see the Background Services Quick Reference Guide: Background Services.

Q.How can I tell if the service is running properly?
A. Click on Start, Programs, Infortel Select, Manage Background Services. When a service is selected, the service's progress will be displayed in the grid at the bottom. The last 200 entries for the selected service are displayed in chronological order from most recent down to least recent. If there is an error while the service is running, an X will appear in the Err? Column. An explanation for the error will be given in the Description column.
