Choose a question below about Infortel Analyst.
Q. How can I e-mail an Analyst Report?
A. Although the Infortel Analyst web site does not have integrated e-mail capabilities, it is possible to easily e-mail the reports. The frames used in the web site make e-mailing directly from Internet Explorer somewhat difficult. For best results, click on the PDF button and view the report as an Adobe PDF. In version 6 of Adobe Acrobat (either the reader or the full version), you can click on the e-mail button on the toolbar or choose file>Email to send the file.
Q. What is the best way to print an analyst report?
A. You have two options to printing Analyst reports. You can either print the report by simply pressing the "print" button or print it from Adobe Acrobat. Since reports viewed as PDF files have page breaks, you often can get better results by printing from Adobe Acrobat.
Q. What does the red and yellow column on the web page mean?
A. Each alarm is flagged as either a warning (yellow) or an alert (red), depending on the severity of the alarm. For example, in the high cost call alarm, Alerts may be generated on calls over $10.00 while warnings are for calls over $5.00.
Q. What is the difference between Alerts and Reports?
A. Alerts are generated only if a threshold is exceeded. Reports show regardless of whether or not a threshold was met.
Q. I have a large number of inactive extensions. I know that these extensions no longer exist in the PBX. What should I do?
A. Inactive extensions are those extensions that exist in your call accounting system that do not have any calls for the period. Make sure your call accounting definitions are up-to-date. That will prevent erroneous inactive extensions.
Q. What is the difference between Busy Hour Average and Busy Hour Peak?
A. The busy hour average is the hour of the day where, on average, you have the longest call duration. For example, over the course of the month, if 2:00PM has, on average, the most traffic, then 2:00PM is your busy hour average. On the other hand, the busy hour peak is the single hour in the month where you had the most traffic. Thus, 3:00PM on August 22nd might be your busy hour peak.
Q. How is Percent Utilization calculated?
A. Percent Utilization = Number of minutes of traffic in the hour / # of trunks * 60
Using this formula, if we have two trunks in a facility with a total of sixty minutes of traffic in the hour, we can calculate a 50% utilization (60/2*60).
