Infortel®
customers with Cisco CallManager, Avaya or Siemens telephone systems
might be affected by new Federal Government guidelines.
Do you have the correct time?
Federal changes to Daylight Savings Time might require you to update
your Infortel® product in order to maintain the correct
day and time on your call records. Customers with Cisco CallManager,
Avaya or Siemens telephone systems might be impacted. ISI has developed
a solution for Infortel that will handle the new Daylight Savings
Time requirements and keep your call records accurate.

product? See our FAQs:
In an effort to assist our customers with the new Daylight Savings
Time requirements, ISI has prepared responses for some frequently
asked questions. Please review the following information to determine
if your system requires an update.
Q.Why is an update necessary? A: In order to save energy, the United States is
changing daylight savings time (DST) in 2007. Beginning with 2007,
DST will begin two weeks earlier (in March) and end two weeks later
(in November). Infortel Call Accounting contains code that calculates
time and date. Depending on the PBX used, you may need to update
this code to properly show the time and date of the call.
Q. Which telephone
systems are affected?
A: We have identified three telephone systems. Cisco CallManager,
most versions of Avaya, and the Siemens 9200 systems will exhibit
some issues.
Q. Which versions
of ISI products can be upgraded?
A: Infortel for Windows version 5.x and Infortel Select
version 7.x can be upgraded to properly show the time and date.
Customers with Infortel Select version 6.x will need to upgrade
to version 7.
Q. How much will
the update cost?
A: Customers with an active ISI Software Support Agreement
will receive the update at no charge. Customers without support
contracts can update for $500.00. All updates are self-installable
and include instructions. Installation assistance is available if
needed. An additional charge may apply to Infortel Select version
6.x customers.
Q. What happens
if I do not update?
A: The actual behavior of the system will be dependent
on which telephone system you have:
Customers with Cisco CallManager
Cisco CallManager reports all times in GMT. Infortel converts GMT
to local time. Without the update, the time stamp on all calls will
be one hour off for two weeks in the spring and two weeks in the
fall.
Customers with Avaya PBX’s Some Avaya PBX formats do not include a date stamp on each call
record. Thus, the buffer box ISI uses automatically stamps each
call. The buffer will show the wrong date between 11:00PM and 1:00AM
for two weeks each spring and fall. There are various ways to correct
this:
i. If you are running Infortel Select version 7.x, you can change
the PBX format in the Avaya Media Server. Choose the “International”
CDR format. Infortel Select will automatically recognize the date
stamp contained in the CDR record. No update will be needed.
ii. If you are running either Infortel for Windows or if you choose
not to change the CDR format, you should update your ISI software.
Customers with Siemens 9200 PBX’s Customers with Siemens telephone systems will experience the
wrong date on calls for two hours each night in the spring and fall.
Contact ISI for an update to fix this issue.
Q. When will the
update be available?
A: The update is now available. Customers are able to
register for the update from the ISI website (see "REQUEST
UPDATE" below). Once you register, ISI will send you a
link where you can download the update. ISI TAC will provide installation
assistance, if needed.
Q.
Do I have to do anything to my PC or PBX to correct its clock?
A: Depending on your Windows operating system, you may
have to make some changes to your PC. To determine if your version
of Windows is affected, click the icon
at the bottom of this screen to visit the Microsoft website.
You should contact your telephone
vendor to determine if and when they will be addressing the DST
issue within their systems.
Q.
I’ve decided that the wrong time or date does not matter to
me. Do I have to update?
A: No. No further action is required.
