In 2008, ISI announced we would continue to support Infortel® Select using a SQL Server 2000 database until 4/1/2009. Today, we are currently still supporting our application using that database although Microsoft is no longer offering Mainstream Support of SQL Server 2000. We are approaching the time, however, when our programming will require us to utilize the technologies and techniques only available in SQL Server 2005/2008. At this time, we are setting an end date of 9/30/09 for Infortel Select's compatibility with SQL Server 2000.
How does this date affect you?
Customers using the MSDE database (supplied by ISI) do not need to do anything. After 9/30/09, if/when your system requires an update with new programs requiring SQL Server Express 2005/2008, ISI will supply the new database software for you.
Customers using full SQL Server 2005/2008 do not need to do anything. You are already prepared to accept an Infortel Select update with new programs requiring SQL Server 2005/2008.
Customers using full SQL Server 2000 should upgrade to SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008 prior to 9/30/09. If your organization's timing will not allow you to perform the upgrade to SQL Server by that date, the Infortel Select system will continue to function using the SQL Server 2000 database; HOWEVER, if you require an update to the Infortel Select application to solve a problem or to receive a new feature, you will not be able to receive the update after 9/30/09 until you have upgraded your SQL Server version.
Note: Customers who use full SQL Server 2000 for their Infortel Select database MUST be on Infortel Select version 7.4 or above OR must have received the latest Service Pack from ISI for database schema compatibility with SQL Server 2005/2008. Please contact ISI prior to upgrading to SQL Server 2005/2008, so we can verify you have the correct Infortel Select version.
Additionally, as a reminder, currently Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems must be installed prior to receiving an Infortel Select update. We no longer provide Infortel Select updates to systems running Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server operating systems.
Note: If you wish to upgrade to Windows Server 2008, you MUST be on Infortel Select version 7.6 or above.
