ISI Announces Interface to Lucent Definity PBXs |
Schaumburg, IL - ISI is pleased to announce the availability of an
interface between our Infortel for Windows (IFW) Call Accounting system
and the Lucent Definity PBX. With this interface, IFW can accept extension
definitions from Lucent's Terranova and Definity Network Administration
(DNA) tools and populate the IFW directory database. With this Lucent
interface, ISI now offers a single point of entry for users of Lucent
PBXs.
How it Works: Terranova and DNA both produce a
standard ASCII output files with extension information. IFW has,
as a standard offering, an Import Wizard which is designed to accept
ASCII directory files. Users would simply create an ASCII file in
Terranova or DNA and save the file to a local or network file. The
IFW Import Wizard will take that file and update the directory database
accordingly.
Limitations: The Lucent Interface currently imports
only directory information, not trunking information. The import
of trunk definitions is not practical since the customer must also
define a number of additional parameters such as costing definitions
when defining trunks in IFW.
Terranova and DNA only output names, extensions, and authorization
codes. They do not provide any organizational information such as
department, divisions, etc. Thus, whenever a new extension is added,
the user will have to define the appropriate organizational information
in IFW. With IFW's unique drag-and-drop capability, however, this
definition will be quite easy.
ISI is a leading provider of on-site and service bureau telemanagement
solutions. Their suite of call accounting products can fit any size
company and budget. Their corporate offices are in Schaumburg, Illinois,
