ISI and Alcatel Team Up for Telemanagement |
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. and CALABASAS, Calif. ISI and
Alcatel (NYSE: ALA) today announced the joint development of a unique
data acquisition module that enhances call accounting capabilities
on the Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 IP PBX. With this new interface, users
like telecom managers can easily integrate ISI?s Infortel for Windows
call accounting solution with the Alcatel OmniPCX 4400. Compared
to other voice systems that require buffer boxes for polling, the
Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 provides users with on-line network data acquisition
using a direct call detail record (CDR) link.
The new module developed by ISI and Alcatel enables Infortel for
Windows to poll from one to 100 OmniPCX 4400s over a local- or wide-area
network. The OmniPCX 4400 writes the CDR to a PC. Infortel for Windows
then picks up the CDR from the PC, rates the data and processes
it for reporting. Users then have access to the robust rating, reporting
and report scheduling, billing, and report distribution features
that ISI products are known for. A key differentiator is that moves,
adds and changes on the Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 sync automatically
with Infortel for Windows, eliminating the need for replication
by the users.
"The ability of ISI's Infortel for Windows to poll call accounting
information from multiple, networked OmniPCX 4400 servers strengthens
Alcatel's position as a developer of distributed PBX systems,"
Brian Riggs, analyst at Current Analysis, a competitive response
solutions provider.
Infortel for Windows is one of the top call accounting systems
on the market. It combines power with ease of use, and comes in
two configurations: Desktop, for organizations with fewer than 7,500
extensions, and Enterprise, for a virtually unlimited number of
users and call records. Product versions include General Business,
IP Telephony tracking, Lodging and Professional Services.
ISI is a member of the Alcatel Applications Partner Program (www.applicationspartner.alcatel.com).
