ISI releases Infortel for Windows version 5.1 |
SCHAUMBURG, IL - ISI is pleased to announce the immediate availability
of the newest release of Infortel for Windows. Version 5.1 enhances
the changes made in 5.0. It is a maintenance release that also includes
support for IP Telephony (also know as Voice over IP) and for a
new call collection method.
Infortel for Windows 5.1 comes in two flavors:
Infortel for Windows Desktop
Geared towards companies with up to 7,500 stations and up to two
million call records, it utilizes Microsoft Database Engine (MSDE),
which is a royalty-free version of SQL Server. MSDE uses 32-bit
technology to provide multi-tasking capabilities and superior speed
of operation. This lower-cost database engine provides an economical
option for small to mid-range companies, plus offers full scalability
to a true enterprise system. Infortel for Windows Desktop allows
up to five concurrent users. The system runs on Windows 95, 98,
Windows NT and Windows 2000 operation systems.
Infortel for Windows Enterprise
This true client/server system can accommodate up to 30,000 stations
and virtually unlimited amount of call records, which is based only
upon available disk space. This system is geared towards larger
companies or firms in need of more than five concurrent users. Infortel
for Windows Enterprise is also ideal for companies that desire a
platform for future growth. It utilitizes client/server technology
and the powerful SQL Server database and runs on Windows NT Advanced
Server operating system.
Based upon previous versions of Infortel for Windows, these systems
offer true 32-bit architecture and standard Windows' operations,
such as drag-and-drop functionality and other Explorer-like features.
Along with porting the database to MSDE and SQL Server and offering
two system types, other enhancements have been made and options
offered, which are described below.
IP Telephony
ISI has developed the Infortel for Windows VoIP View feature in
support of Cisco's Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated
Data (AVVID). This product offers accounting and billing solutions
for both small and large enterprise accounts. VoIP View collects
the Call Detail Records from Cisco's CallManager platform and generates
customizable reports for both internal charge-back and cost accounting
requirements. VoIP View can also provide call accounting for traditional
voice networks and combinations of traditional voice and Cisco's
VoIP networks. This is important as accounts will often switch to
IP Telephony one site at a time and need to have organization-wide
reports that include data from Cisco CallManager and traditional
PBX systems. VoIP View can be used to allocate IP Telephony costs
within an organization, provide productivity reporting and fraud
control, and bill back to tenants.
Once VoIP View captures Cisco CallManager data, the data is rated
and processed for reporting. Users then have access to the robust
rating, reporting and report scheduling, billing and report distribution
features that ISI products are known for.
Cisco CallManager is the intelligent call-processing software component
of Cisco AVVID. Cisco AVVID is designed to integrate all communication
into a single infrastructure, providing a single point of management,
administration and control for convergent networks. Installed on
highly reliable servers, Cisco CallManager provides signaling and
call control services to Cisco-integrated multimedia applications
as well as third-party applications. Cisco CallManager is central
to the distributed architecture of Cisco AVVID. The product can
be distributed and clustered over an IP network, thereby allowing
scalability to 10,000 users and triple call processing redundancy.
New Call Collection Method
Infortel for Windows 5.1 now supports GTE's ICA Centrex system. |
