Programmer II (Visual Basic Products)

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Programmer II is responsible for the design, coding, unit testing and technical documentation of ISI Telecommunication applications. The design is based on Product Requirements and Specification, Product Change Requests, and/or Software Problem Reports (Bugs). Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Gather design preferences/requirements from various input sources
2. Design User Interfaces
3. Create technical specifications and required changes to specifications (Design)
4. Implementation (Coding)
5. Analysis to optimize software use (what, when, where/how)
6. Change and/or customize software if other features are expected or required as part of the design review
7. Unit testing of developed software
8. Retest software prior to software release
9. Finalize software prior to software release
10. Update and submit software source to the Vault
11. Document Release Notes and Unit test notes

Education and Experience:

BA/BS in CS or equivalent technical field; or 4+ years related experience in software development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3+ years in a Visual Basic Software Development role (Design, Code, Test, Implementation, and documenting) database applications and related GUI interfaces
• 2 + years experience with VB.NET and MS SQL Server
• Must have working knowledge of SQL and be able to create SQL Queries and stored procedures and views
• Coding using VB.Net and ASP.NET

Desired Development Experience: Silverlight, JavaScript and other Web-based development tools.
